Scottish Real Ale Shop

The Old Brewery             Scottish Real Ale Heaven Choose from over 100 Beers!

When we purchased the Lade Inn, it had a show case Microbrewery housed in an adjacent building.  It was here that the birth of our House Ales took place and the beginnings of a beautiful relationship with Real Ale was started.  It stopped production during 2004.  After a year of investigating with the various authorities in getting our Microbrewery functioning again, we have had to take the decision not to brew our House Ales on the premises.  Due to our environmental commitment, our position within the National Park and the fact we operate a septic tank, the impact we would have would be detrimental to our immediate surroundings.  Our passion for Scottish Real Ale has by no means been quashed, we still continue to have our House Real Ales brewed exclusively for us by the original local brewer who worked on the recipes and have now opened the only Scottish Real Ale Shop in the whole of the country.

The Largest Collection of Bottled Scottish Real Ales in the Country

Our shop currently stocks over 100 different bottled beers, the largest selection in the whole of Scotland and aims to bring all the Scottish Real Ales under one roof; providing access to information, sampling and beer talks to the beer enthusiast locally and further afield.  The primary aim is to support this niche and geographically spread industry by developing a central one stop shop for Scottish Real Ale fans and a place that smaller breweries can use to get to new customers.

Sampling and Events

During 2007 we will showcase a different brewery every week from May through to October, with sampling available and the opportunity to meet the brewer and talk about their products, the brewing process or anything else you care to talk about!.

Our House Real Ales

Our three delicious real ales sold exclusively from the pump as our house beer at the Lade Inn.

WayLade (abv 3.9%)- a good flavoured, creamy, blonde bitter with a malty, fruity nose and lightly hopped after taste.

LadeBack (abv 4.5%)- a rounded slightly sweeter, refreshing amber ale that is well balanced with a hop dominated dry finish.

LadeOut (abv 5.1%)- a robust and satisfying dark ale with a complex flavour of liquorice and dark chocolate, that is rewarding on the palate.
